This past weekend was the Fourth of July. And I spent it having fun. How much fun, you ask? Well, about as much fun as you can have with a truckload of fireworks, RC helicopters and gas powered RC cars. Let me explain. The fireworks were mostly large black cats and the like and we had retrofitted a little clamp to the underside of the helicopter. By adding a longer fuse to the firecracker, we were then able to light the thing and take off. While in flight, the car would drive around on the ground and the helicopter would drop the firecrackers to try and hit the vehicle. And believe me when I say that this is no where near as easy as purchasing aftermarket Acura parts. I wish it was that easy, but it just isn’t. For one thing, if you are piloting the helicopter, you can’t see when the car is directly below you so you just sort of aim and hope for the best. If you are driving the car, you have it easy because it is all about timing. When the fuse gets close to the end, you know it is going to drop so you can just bait the copter into doing what you want. When all was said and done, we ended up just driving in a straight line to see if anyone could actually hit the dang thing. And you know what? We didn’t, but it was still entertaining. As entertaining as BMW accessories can be? I don’t know about that, but it was a great way to pass the time and get rid of some fireworks. So if you can’t be out there upgrading with Mercedes Benz parts, make sure to get some friends together and have fireworks, an RC helicopter and a gas RC car to really have some fun.
